Noeline has lived in Alakamisy for 19 years and her family has seen changes to their health, wellbeing and wealth since the arrival of the water points. Noeline began a kitchen garden to grow vegetables for her family and now is able to sell some at a local market. She used the money to help construct a separate building for her animals; they previously shared the same small building as the family.

With a safe water source close to home, people have more time and water to cultivate crops for their community, saving money and improving diets at the same time.

"Before we couldn’t have gardens with vegetables, mangoes, maize but now we can grow what we want to because we have water. We eat a part of what we grow and sell the rest. It’s now income for the family."
